Terminal overview Germany |
Friendly staff from the DB Autozug station service will assist you at all terminals. They will answer any questions you may have before departing or upon arrival.
These are the documents you require at check-in:
Awaiting you at the check-in point will be our friendly staff, to whom tickets for passenger and vehicle carriage are to be presented for inspection. Should you have booked online and hence be in possession of an online ticket, please sign the “check-in copy” and present it for examination by the check-in staff together with the “customer’s copy”.
Destination slips
Your validated tickets will be returned to you by the check-in staff together with a “destination slip” detailing your travel destination. Please carefully read through the important information on vehicle loading on the reverse and lay the slip so it is readily visible on the dashboard of your vehicle. Motorcyclists should place the slip behind their windscreens (or touring screen) or else secure it in the vicinity of the tank so terminal staff can easily see it.
Information on the loading process
Please note that drivers must be at their vehicles by the time loading commences so all vehicles can be loaded to schedule and thus the train can depart to schedule too.
Please switch off your vehicle’s alarm system and retract or detach the aerial. For some destinations it is necessary to remove accompanying baggage from the vehicle (cf. “At a glance”). Where this is not the case, please re-check that items are firmly secured, since they will have to withstand speeds of up to 160 km/h.
Vehicles are arranged by height
It is necessary to arrange vehicles by size on the carrier. The loading sequence is determined by “vehicle height” as opposed to when vehicles arrive at check-in. As a general rule, vehicles with a height of up to 1.58 metres and motorbikes are loaded first.
Is your vehicle being loaded on the lower deck? If so, please mind your head when getting out!
For safety reasons only drivers may accompany their vehicles onto the carrier, whilst any passengers are required to leave the vehicle before it is driven over the loading ramp. The loading staff will show you the way to the loading ramp and issue instructions while you drive the vehicle on the carrier. Please heed these instructions. Once your vehicle has been parked on the carrier, you alight onto the platform using the deboarding stairs.
Hand luggage
Please remember the hand luggage you need for the train journey. Once your vehicle has been loaded into position, you cannot return to it until you reach your destination. Ideally, your passengers should take charge of any hand luggage prior to loading.
