Holidaymakers heading for Carinthia have long since used Villach as their destination terminal and saved themselves long waits at the mouth of tunnels as well as the cost of tunnel and motorway tolls.

This DB Autozug terminal in Austria now plays an even more important role, as the terminal in Rijeka is no longer operated owing to the high train kilometre charges through Slovenia.In summer 2008, DB Autozug will therefore end in Villach. From there, you can reach Slovenia with your own vehicle in no time at all (30 km to the border) and continue to Croatia, for example to Rijeka (approx. 210 km).
