How can I pay for my Internet booking?

skip: How can I pay for my Internet booking?
Tickets can be paid for by credit card (Mastercard and Visacard) and by direct debit.

If you wish to pay by direct debit, your credit status will be checked online. Please note the following points:

  • The passenger must be the accountholder
  • The address you enter is the German address at which the passenger is registered
  • Check that you have stated the correct date of birth.

The full fare will immediately be deducted from your bank account or charged to your credit card.

We do not offer the option of a down payment for bookings made on the Internet. However, a discount of EUR 5 per route is granted on online bookings.

What is the security code/card verification code (CVC) and where do I find it?

As a means of safeguarding your online order, you are required to enter the card verification code on your credit card before DB Autozug can effect the transaction.

The card verification code (CVC or CVV [value]) is a three-digit number. It is to be found on the reverse of most credit cards, directly after the final four digits of the credit card number in the or above the signature box.

The CVC is a security feature enabling online traders and the issuer of your credit card to identify you as the holder of the card as a means of affording you added protection against credit card fraud.

I have a direct debit arrangement with DB Personenverkehr GmbH. Can I use this to book DB Autozug trips too?

DB Autozug is not integrated into the booking procedures adopted by DB Personenverkehr GmbH and operates its own booking system. It is accordingly not possible to transfer data held by DB Personenverkehr GmbH to DB Autozug.

DB Autozug tickets can also be paid for by direct debit. Please refer to the above item “How can I pay for Internet bookings?“.

Can I book my inward journey with DB Autozug from a different station to that to which my outward journey took me?

You can plan your journey with DB Autozug as you please – as a round trip if you like. Your destination station does not need to be the point from which you embark on your journey home. You could, for instance, initially travel from Hamburg to Bolzano and yet return with DB Autozug from Munich to Hildesheim.

Can I travel on DB Autozug trains without taking a car or bike?

DB AutoZug GmbH operates domestic and international train services in which passengers are only carried with their motor cars (including with trailer) or motorcycles (including with sidecar). The vehicle’s driver is required to accompany the vehicle and to be able to present a valid driving licence.

You will find interesting offers for journeys without vehicles under www.nachtzugreise.de.

Are the prices given on the Internet always for the carriage of persons and vehicles inclusive?

All prices displayed during online booking cover the persons and vehicles entered. The price given is the final and total price.

I have lost my online ticket. How can I get a replacement?

Should you still have the e-mail containing the online ticket in your mailbox, simply print it out again.

Otherwise, you can view your bookings at any time under “My DB Autozug”. Here you have the option of having your tickets re-dispatched so you can print them out again. In addition, you can also rebook or cancel your trip there should this become necessary.

How can I make rebookings if I am already on holiday?

We recommend calling our service line in such circumstances (cf. Contact Details in righthand column), which you can do between 8 am and 10 pm.

When and how do I enter a campaign code?

Before selecting the service you wish, enter your campaign code in the “Campaign code” field.

With some campaign codes it is necessary, when your personal data are being recorded later on, to enter your membership number in the “Membership number” field. Your concessionary rate is automatically noted and deducted from the total fare.

As of when can I book my DB Autozug trip for next summer or winter?

Bookings for the next summer season (April-October) can be made from the beginning of the previous November, those for the winter (November-April) from the beginning of August. The best thing is to subscribe to the DB Autozug newsletter, in which case you will be sent the exact dates by e-mail as soon as they are known.
