The EG Regulation 1371/2007 relating to the rights and responsibilities of passenger’s travelling on the Railways is valid from 3rd December 2009, throughout the EU, but in Germany these regulations are already in place now.

Compensation for passenger lateness of arrival at their final destination is awarded at a rate of 25% of the price, per sleeping berth in couchette coach, for being upward of 60 minutes late, and at a rate of 50% for being upward of 120 minutes late.

Up to date information and the Passenger’s Rights Formulae can be obtained using the Right’s link.
