skip: Beaches, sea, and sophisticated towns – Holidaying on the Côte d’Azur
If you drive along the 120 kilometre coast you will experience the full beauty of the Côte d’Azur, one of the most loved holiday regions in France. Visit Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Antibes, Nice or the Principality of Monaco

The turquoise blue sea with its lovely resorts and wonderful beaches, sophisticated world-renowned towns with luxurious hotels, the red cliffs of the Estérel which reach out into the sea, small islands and picturesque villages with slated roof houses and colourful markets. Additionally in the background, the alpine foothills, many lovely regions and scenic landmarks are all worthy of a detour. For example, the Gorges of Verdon, the 700 metre deep ravines are a grandiose spectacle of nature.

A huge range of sports facilities can be added to the legendary lifestyle of the Côte d´Azur; from water sports to golf, tennis and cycling, all manner of sports can be practised here. Cultural and festive events are arranged throughout the year.

Radfahrer im Gegenlicht

This unique landscape and the mild Mediterranean climate are certainly the reason why so many famous painters live here and are inspired by the beauty. During your journey you really should follow your instincts and also visit one of the many museums.

DB Autozug will take you to Avignon. From here it is only a stone’s throw to the Côte d’Azur. For travel on the Côte d´Azur the appropriate terminal is Alessandria (Italy). For example, from Alessandria to Nice is only a 240 kilometre journey.
