Enjoy the town or the Salzburg Festival in this wonderful Baroque town. Mozart’s birthplace offers a many-sided Culture and Event programme for every season of the year and describes itself as the World’s Stage.

The Salzburg Festival takes place every year in July and August with Operas, Concerts and Theatre performances as well as contemporary art exhibitions which offer entertainment for every taste. However, the town reveals itself as multi-layered in other ways. Salzburg can be considered as a town of fountains and decorative water plus scores of historical landmarks such as ecclesiastical as well as secular magnificent buildings and the Old Town, which is listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site, exploration is invited. Austria’s oldest Coffee House is the Cafe Tomaselli which is the right place to let the impressions of the town engulf you.

An excursion by foot to the Hohensalzburg fortress takes you past the Stieglkeller, probably Salzburg’s most beautiful Beer Garden with a glorious view over the Old Town. On particularly warm days, a visit to Schloss Hellbrunn is recommended where the joke water fountains provide a pleasant cooling down.
