Pitztal

It is little wonder that so many national ski teams have their training quarters here. In the summer, everyone finds their mountain climbing pleasure: from hiking paths for children up to more demanding climbing tours on the numerous routes in the Pitztaler “Three thousanders”.

For a Tyroler high mountain family summer, it is essential to have a children’s club: “Pitzis Kinderclub” provides adventures which the children will rave about for a long time afterwards: children’s farmyards, petting zoo, treasure hunting, playing Indians and lots more.

Whoever is shown a yellow or red card playing football has mostly a bad hand. When the referee reaches for his breast pocket a second time, it is mostly ‘curtains’ for the recipient. It is quite different in Pitztal, there a card increases the appetite for more: the ‘free’ Pitztal pass fits exactly into the middle of the field for every holiday maker when on holiday, as far as their finances are concerned: all holiday makers who book into a residence that is registered in the Pitztaler, are automatically provided with a free-entertainment pass for the duration of their stay which grants them numerous benefits; for instance, the tourist can use the much loved wander-bus free of charge, which not only travels to the valley stations of the mountain railway but also to the leisure centre at Wenns with its swimming pool and the various start-points for hiking and mountain tours.

Participation on guided tours, which the tourist board organise for their guests is free of charge for the holders of the Pitztaler pass. Thereby the most experienced ‘hiking-guides’, show the inexperienced guests the most beautiful spots in the Pitztal, with their majestic peaks well over the three-thousand metres mark, its glaciers and the hiking trails stretching for over 380 kilometres. And who knows? Perhaps a meeting with at such a time with an ibex - the Pitztal emblem.

Tours for mountain bikers, under the supervision of experienced guides are also part of the services included in the Pitztaler pass. So, for example, it is possible to travel throughout the Pitztal biker routes with studded tires”. These 42 kilometres long, reliably signposted routes continue along landscaped, charming routes through the whole valley from Imst to Mittelberg. Whoever enjoys peace and quiet can join up with the guided Nordic-Walking tour of the Alpine Club Imst. Simply join a day earlier and try out for yourself this new, constructive health trend in sport.

And for the junior Pitztal visitor the free entertainment pass holds a special surprise: In the Pitzis Kinderclub the mini’s (from 3 to 6 years) and maxi’s (7 to 14 years) can experience, under professional supervision, fun and adventure in natural surroundings, doing handicrafts and games. You can travel comfortably with DB Autozug from Düsseldorf in a sleeping-car or couchette carriage to Innsbruck.
